Thank you Mike and Jon for bringing this great dining experience to the downtown Asheville circuit. Looking forward to my next bite of Manicomio pizza, you have a customer for life, and I'm sorry to all the other pizza spots in town, because these guys do it right and are at the top of their game!
Best NY Pizza I have had not only in NC but some of the best I've ever had period. They put the utmost love into their food, with a perfect sauce for pizza that is red perfection, the crust is thin and perfectly cooked, the staff is caring and friendly, and any of the other food such as their salads, sandwiches and pasta that has all exceeded my expectations as a New Yorker from an Italian family!
Food Quality, Service, and Price of everything is great... They also have some of the most beautiful and elegant desert selection... This place is a blessing for Italian Food lovers and is not to be missed! If your thinking of pizza for dinner, or want to try something new, than you NEED to make it into Manicomio as soon as possible, if you have already eaten there you probably feel the same way as I do!
I'll begin by saying that my hopes were set quite high for this place. Good cheese pizza. Not great, but good. I think it was the crust; it could be crispier. Reasonably priced. A little bit of a wait for 2 slices of pizza during the lunch hour - somewhere between 5 and 10 minutes. I would expect them to be ready to go. They did a great job renovating the inside! I'd definitely stop in again, but I won't be making any special trips downtown to get a slice.
My boyfriend and I went in here on a whim while walking around before a concert, and wow! The food was so good and the service was great. The employees are so friendly. We’ll definitely come back next time we’re in Asheville.
Took a group of people here and was underwhelmed. Would not really recommend it for a group, took over 35+ mins to get 1 cheese pizza and 1 pepperoni pizza. Self service too for ordering and drinks, which isn't ideal with a large group. Pizza was very standard quality. Seemed like they were still figuring out things. Staff seemed stressed. Also we in for a weekday slice, to give another chance. Same experience, took quite a while to heat up a single slice and bring it out. Pizza was underwhelming again. Sigh, wanted it to be a regular spot, but will most likely pass from here on.
This place is really good. It's not the best pizza I've ever had, but it's still great. It's cheap if you just want a NY slice or two. I'd be somewhat of a regular here if I lived close by.
