I have always enjoyed browsing through the tool area. Craftsman toolboxes have become much cheaper made and you can find better alternatives for a better price. The same goes for craftsman tools. I have older ones that are still going strong but newer craftsman power tools are lower grade.
Dropped off a wedding band my fiance purchased here to have resized. When I took it in to have resized no one was working the counter. I had to flag an associate down to help me. No big deal, he was a great help. After three weeks I hadn't received a call back so I called asking if it was ready. Was told no one was in jewelry but they took my name and number and told me someone would be in touch that day. No one called back so I went in the next day and found two other people waiting at the jewelry counter. After two pages and almost a hour nobody came. I flagged down an associate asking for help and was told only the manager could access the jewelry counter and she was way too busy to help today so to come in tomorrow. I DO NOT SUGGEST PURCHASING JEWELRY FROM THIS SEARS! WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY!
Sears is AWESOME! There's not a jewelry store anywhere around that offers the quality of diamonds that Sears offers at the price Sears asks. Charla's very helpful, so ask for her if you're buying your wife a ring. I'm currently in the store with an armload of winter apparel that was marked down to $3.99. Name brands, Nordic track, etc. Got a Carhartt jacket for $4. Unbelievably low prices on shoes, too. Sears offers American-made lines, just like with their Craftsman tools. I've been a loyal Sears customer all my life and I'm old enough to remember "the man on page 602" of the Sears catalog. :-D. Heck, I'm old enough to remember the Sears CATALOG. People who complain so much should visit a third world country to get some perspective. You had to wait in line? Well, at least you didn't have to walk 5 miles (literally) to a water source and then carry it back in a 3-gallon bucket so you could make a thin broth over a fire made from dried cattle dung because of deforestation around your village where the closest electricity is a two-day walk away. So, yeah, I'll wait in line. And while I'm waiting I'll consider how lucky I am to have the privilege to live in this blessed country.
Sears only had one cashier for the entire 1st floor. There were 20 people in line to pay so I chose to put my items back. Saw others doing the same.
Worse place to work and be a customer. I worked there almost two years, was a cashier, jewelry associate and softlines manager and can say they will overwork you and belittle you. I saw the behind the scenes of how the business was run and they only care about meeting ridiculous metrics by getting credit cards from customers (which the company gets $13.25 for when a customer is pressured into applying) and the Shop Your Way rewards. It was so stressful everyday and they are all for running one person to death doing multiple jobs from cashier to putting stock out and recovering the floor all by yourself in a night with no other help. I am so glad to have left that terrible place.
