This had been my oil change, tire rotation shop for two years. The last time I went in October, the usual manager was not there and I was treated poorly even led to believe there was something wrong with my car. I was told because the oil was black that meant my car was burning oil and was down 2 quarts. They said I needed two additvies: one to clean out all the debris and one to lubricate. I told them my 2013 did not have any symptoms of burning oil and that I didn't believe it was two quarts old. I told them to go ahead with the additives at the cost of an additional $44. Then I got the idea to google black oil and discovered it doesn't mean that my car is burning oil. I went to the desk and told them to stop that I wanted to see this black oil. The customer window was right next to my car so I could see him put the dipstick in and pull it out. He didn't wipe it off. The oil was dark brown but not black and didn't smell burnt or of gas. The measure on the stick was also at full. I told them not to put the additives in and he told me that they had already put in the first one. Begs the question, why did he dip the stick and show me oil if the additive was in there. I was upset and made no bones about it. I told them I felt taken advantage of because i was a woman. The manager's response to me was "Well my daughter and my mother are women so isn't that funny?" Whatever that had to do with my situation. I told them I would be reporting them to Corporate and on social media and that I wouldn't be back. The manager was angry and said fine. do it and don't come back. I did talk to the main owner/manager but all he said was that he would work with them on customer service. No refund for unneeded additives. Also, 3 days later I started having problems with my new 6 year warranty battery from AAA which had left me stranded on the road twice. When I took it in to them to check it, they found one of my battery leads had been loosened. Hmmmmmm....wonder how that happened. I called the owner/manager back to report this but he would not return my calls. Women beware. Check you oil level and color BEFORE you take you car in for an oil change. Also, dark brown or black oil only means that your oil has done it's job and needs to be changed. I will never set foot in a Mieneke again. It took me so long to report this because I have been checking my oil level weekly to see if it is burning oil. My car is not. Liars.
A very nice and friendly shop. They went above and beyond to fix my problem. Kept me informed all the way through the process. Honest people and Great work done at a fair price. Highly Recommend!!!!
Well they called to tell me I need 9 different iteams replaced. 1 iteam was the power steering pump.they said it was leaking an needed replaced. I already knew the inlet hose was leaking because I had planned on replacing it this coming weekend along with struts. I asked if the pump was leaking or just the hose. He told me the pump ( me knowing that is wasn't the pump) I just told him no thanks. 4 other iteams he mentioned where the same story. But I did ask upon returning to pick the car up that when he checked an topped off the transmission fluid if it was low or over full. He replies.( Oh it's fine just dirty). I had checked the trans fluid & oil 20 min before dropping the car off for service and the trans was showing well over full. So I knew at this point they had not checked any fluids or topped any off. I also asked why the tires where not rotated as I was told they would be. They said ( of well there worn so it wouldn't matter) as they then went an rotated the tires.
Took my car there to have oil change an fluids checked/topped off.
Customer's beware: This meineke location is not trustworthy. On my last visit, both the behind the counter representative and the manager lied to me, trying to trick me into having services I didn't need performed on my vehicle. They told me that I needed my timing belt changed (Car is at 110k miles, representative said it needed to be changed at 100k miles and manager said 60k miles, it actually should be changed at 150k miles), they told me I needed two new tired and an alignment fix (tires are still in great condition and have at least another year on them before they need to be changed) and they told me that they needed to replace my engine head gasket for a brake leak even though no brake fluid comes close to touching that head gasket. Do not come to this location!
I was told I needed rotors and pads front and rear from a shop down the road, I decided to come to Meineke for a second opinion. The manager John let me know he could resurface all 4 rotors while putting on new pads with hardware which was much less expensive than my first quote. It feels good to know there are honest people like John that I do not have to second guess if I am getting ripped off or not.
So at this point I am questioning if the 70$ oil change I paid for was even done lol let alone if the type of oil I paid for was used. This place is very unprofessional as well as dishonest just to get a extra sale for no reason. I do not recommend this place to anyone. I do recommend spending a moment to find another serivce center. One that will give you the serivce you pay for.
