If you have been to the big box stores or Mattress Firm where the person used to work in customer service, and knows nothing about mattresses, then this local Asheville store will amaze you. I am not sure what Chuck Emrick, the owner did before starting Mattress Man, but he knows exactly what kind of experience the customer expects.
This was the worst experience I've had in any form of sales. The store in Asheville across from the Asheville mall has the most unprofessional outfit of employees you will ever encounter. Let me elaborate: the delivery team delivered our mattress to the wrong apartment. They just shoved it into an apartment and the tenant had no idea what was going on. I called asking about our mattress and they said they delivered it. I told them they were incorrect and finally realized their blunder. They actually asked ME if I could go retrieve it. WHAT??? Next was the agreed upon cost of the mattress that ballooned without explanation a week after financing it. This was under the guise of 90 days same as cash. I had had enough and went to speak with the manager, a real swell guy named Chuck. This low life proceeds to chuckle at the delivery blunder and when I showed agitation with the new mattress cost he replied, "Don't you give me any attitude." I completely lost my cool and had choice words for him and his store. He actually had the nerve to throw an F bomb as I left and it took everything I had not to walk back in and REALLY let him know what I think of him. 2 years later this mattress is going where it belongs: the dump. It only lasted 18months before becoming uncomfortably lumpy. Over $1000 investment down the toilet. Beware of this store before you spend good money.
If you need a mattress, this is the best place in Asheville in my opinion, support locally owned family businesses.

The service is just what you would expect from a family owned local business, friendly, honest, and professional. I called several stores and Chuck at Mattress Man gave me the best deal, $150 less than every other place I called for box springs!! Plus free delivery which the other stores charged for. I was so impressed that I went back to them to buy my California King Mattress. I was given a price no one in town could match, and great service. This is truly a wonderful family owned local business.
