The view is peaceful and relaxing. The people can be a little tense and seem to be overwatching you the entire time you're there. But I suppose they are trying to protect you. The location is a place you can connect with God and enjoy His creation of the Mountains, trees, sky, "critters", so enjoy the facility which includes the Bookstore.
Standing on the deck overlooking the Blue Ridge Mountains in fall is its own piece of heaven on earth. I stayed in the Pilgrims Inn. The southern style hospitality was so warm and refreshing. I was greeted by a large fire and hot chocolate by the hearth. The rooms and grounds are immaculate. The walking paths are dotted with welcoming benches and plaques of scripture. The food at the Training Center was first class. The chef Jean Claude was gracious with sharing recipes. My favorite time was in the Chapel that Ruth helped design. Breathtaking. Peaceful. Every staff person helps you feel like you are a dear friend. They have a servants heart. Each need was met beyond expectation. Much of what we saw was crafted by local artist. Spectacular craftsmanship is exhibited. Worth stopping by for just a tour. Truly every aspect of this weekend retreat there was exceptional. I will recommend it and would love to go back again.
