Asheville has so much more to offer than the touristy and overly hyped Biltmore. It's become our version of Disneyworld. You can do so much better by patronizing the small, excellent local businesses that specialize in using locally grown organic produce. Give them a try and leave the Biltmore to the massive convention groups and such.
The salesman at the ticket counter was intentionally vague about the times that the tickets we were about to purchase were valid from and to. A real thief in my opinion. I was so offended, I will not ever get to see the Biltmore because they charge so much for so little. Horrible case of greed gone unchecked. Disgusting.
Great house if you don't mind the crowds. Take a walk around the grounds to escape some of the crowd. A visit to the Inn and wine tasting is also a good time.
