Generally underwhelmed by my experience. Appetizers were solid but nothing outstanding. My entree, house made pappardelle, was overcooked. The sauce was very thin and lacked much flavor, as did the ramp pesto. The braised lamb that came with the dish was average, but there was almost too much of it. As if to make up for the other lacking components. The service was decent but again, nothing memorable. In a town with such a vibrant, flourishing food scene, this restaurant gets lost in the mix in pretty much every aspect. Too many better options in this city.
They truly spoiled us for our dinner after our wedding. The food was divine. The ambiance was perfect for a late night ultra romantic dinner to celebrate the best of occasions
Regardless if the food is good or not, this was an unacceptable way to treat patrons with elderly parents who were freezing. The prices suggest a better level of service than being asked to stand outside in the cold (or be late for a reservation if you want to be welcomed inside).
We had 5pm reservations and stood out in the cold 24 degree weather with the door locked until 5pm. We asked just to stand inside until it was warm. The gentleman refused to let us in just to stand inside for 5 minutes. If this is to be the case when standing with elderly parents, then open up the place at 5pm, let people stand by the door and wait in the warm if they are 5-10 minutes early (so as not to be late and hold up the reservation). reservations should not start until 5:15 or 5:30 if the door won’t even open (literally) until 5pm. Don’t make people wait while you close the back and lock it after “checking to see if it’s ok if we come inside.” (Apparently it was not ok as the door remained locked).
We came with a medium size group for a business meal and were accommodated better than anywhere else in town.
Upscale place, the food was delicious and beautifully presented. As much as I did like it and might return, I'm giving it four stars. The New York-priced drinks (I don't mind paying for a crafted drink, but their cost made getting a nice local beer a more sensible option for me) and a hostess that wasn't sure if she wanted us there were a little disappointing. We were asked if we had reservations as they were expecting a large group; we thought that odd as there were only 3 other patrons in the whole place and it was already around 7:30pm on a Sunday (P.S. - no "group" ever came the whole time we were there). Maybe we weren't dressed up enough LOL...in any event, despite those two things, our server was fantastic and it was a very nice, comfortable place.
Thank you to The Marketplace for fantastic meal and 5 star treatment/food.
So, while we wait on the cold, I have time to write a review and let others know...this place will literally leave you out in the cold. Don’t be early!
Amazing appetizers (charcuterie board out of this world good), for dinner we shared a bit of everything and was great!! Thank you to chef William and the staff. Can't wait to return!
