I called three separate times telling them three people, three cars and two cats, the owner said and I quote " Come on up, we can make something work" quotes me $475 a month for a tent site. We got there, and suddenly it's $212 a week and they don't do monthly fee til November, this was two weeks before November and he knew we had no place to go elsewhere, so I paid. The next week we brought up where to hand in the applications they gave us. The owner said he couldn't provide a month spot for us so I paid for one more week at $212...this place is pretty but it's not worth the hassle. On top of that any time you need to go to the office, you mind as well save the phone # because you will have to call them every time you want anything, then expect to wait rain or shine about 20+ minutes for anyone to come and assist you. That's not good business.

This is an older campground on the French Broad River. It is not a KOA with all the frills. We stayed on campsite 3 which has electric and water but no sewer connection.

The owner was friendly and gave us a map of the area that showed how to get groceries and restaurants.

So if you are reading some of these reviews that are not positive then notice they are just traveling... unlike us who choose to vacation here for yrs.

If you are looking for Glam Camping... go elsewhere... this is the place for REAL CAMPING...

The owners are great and have done tons of work over many yrs and are thankful for all they have done.

I gave 4 stars because the bath house and bathrooms need some serious help.

Enjoyed camping right next to the French Broad River. Peaceful sleeping to the sounds of the river and nature. There is the occasional noisy train passing by but I actually liked that too. Made smores with our campfire pit. Bathroom shower house was clean. Would camp there again!

Our family has been coming here for over 15 yrs... we love it.

Our campsite was small but adequate for our needs. We pulled a 23 foot trailer with a Ford F250 long bed. It is tight getting into the campground which only has one entrance and exit.

We started out with just tent camping and eventually got a camper... stayed the whole month of July. Now we will be spending time there with 4 generations.

This is the only place we go EVERY SUMMER!!!

I stayed for 2 weeks.... and end of experience stop for me. Bill and Glenda are nice / helpful..... I’d stay here again if coming this way.
