I imagine if one broke their hand or some injury related incedent and needed surgery this would be a great place to go, if not for the mere fact that at that point a person would really not have much of a choice in the matter. However, if you are only experiencing times effect of wear and tear on your joints and tendons do not expect the least bit of information, advice, or guidance from the staff at Carolina Hand, as you will spend more time rescheduling your first 3 appointments and or stopping to pick up a penny from the ground then you will spend with the staff and doctor. My doctor was horrible at communicating anything in person, through the patient portal and every other word is surgery this or no surgery that, and he is only available 2 and 1/2 days a week. If you are just starting to feel the effects of getting older, save everyone time and money and use somewhere else if you suspect arthritis, ganglion cyst, etc. and don't deny yourself quality care because of their poor patient focus.
This place is no good! Dr abrams especially! I separated my ac joint and it's been 7 months and still hurting. Last X ray they did he said well the bone growing downward a little bit but that is normal. .......WHAT PART OF THAT IS NORMAL? and says I don't need surgery but won't bother doing an ultrasound on it to see if its the muscle. If this wasn't part of my workers comp, I wouldn't recommend this place.
I have never been more satisfied with a physician/clinic than I am with Dr Lechner and staff at Carolina Hand Clinic! So courteous, professional, caring, never have to wait long, they listen to me carefully and just overall are AWESOME! I wouldn't think of going anywhere else! So grateful to be a patient!
Came off as very shady, and deceptive organization which required me to file a complaint with the NC Medical Board and Blue Cross Blue Shield. Very money hungry, and deceptive. I have BCBS insurance, needed to see the Dr West for a 2nd opinion. they then told me since my injury could be "potential auto related" they will not accept BCBS insurance. Then they told me i have to pay out of network rates, and pay with cash upfront for the surgery. This was apparently direct orders of Dr West. Remember this is a practice that says very clearly on the website they accept BCBS. I asked them to show me their policy ..whether on a form or on the website if a patient has any cause to be auto related ...they will not accept insurance. They could not show this to me. This stinks of discrimination, deceptive practices and unethical behavior and practices led by the main Dr Jesse West. I have now filed complaints with the insurance company and the State Medical Board. Stay away...and keep your wallet covered when you walk in
I saw Dr. Minkin and his nurse Amy. I was diagnosed with mallet finger. The entire staff including the doctor, nurse, receptionists were all courteous, professional, and very friendly. Dr. Minkin was very kind, friendly and knowledgeable. I am 100% confident in his treatment plan for my particular case. Thank you Carolina Hand! I am eager for my follow up and I also have just scheduled an appointment for my husband to be seen for his hand pain and condition. Also my wait time was not long at all. Upon completing my paper work, I was Called back within a few Minutes. Amy quickly took vitals and some information, immediately got into x-ray, and maybe 5-10 minutes later was seen by Dr. Minkin. The facility is clean and comfortable as well. I do recommend!
